Absent From The Body...

but, present with the Lord.

A good friend and faithful reader is grieving the loss of her husband tonight. After a long and courageous battle with diabetes and other health complications, her husband moved on to his reward in heaven this morning.

There are other close family members (some are here and here) who also traffic my blog and comment and I just want to say to you loved ones as well that we are thinking of you and praying for you and are thankful for the hope that heaven has for us as believers in Jesus.

Goodbyes are hard and we send our condolences. May God be with the John Van Essen family.

Oh, I am so, so sad and sorry to hear this news. My thoughts and prayers and deepest sympathies are with the Van Essen family, especially PVE. I pray she feels the arms of God holding her tonight and in the days, weeks and months to come.

Yes, He is holding me. He is good. John was able to be at home clear to the end, and now he is HOME! To be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord. We are glad he knew the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior. Thank you for the tribute. Love in Christ, Pat

Brittleigh, I have no way of communicating with you except through C.'s blog. Thank you for your prayers. I am so grateful for those who were remembering us in prayer, and now me and the kids.
How good is the God we adore
Our faithful unchangeable friend,
Whose love is as great as His power, and knows neither measure nor end.
Tis Jesus the first and the last,
who will guide us safe home
We'll thank Him for all that is past
And trust Him for all that is to come.
